What this actually is
The programme
Lanserhof Lans says the Lanserhof Classic package forms the basis of a stay. With their attending physician, guests develop a diagnostic and therapy strategy for their own needs and goals. Prices are published for stays from 7–8 nights to 17–21 nights, and the property recommends two weeks.
What is included depends on the length of stay. The Classic page lists medical examinations with abdominal treatment, reflexology and therapeutic massages, detox drainage, detox algae packs with a liver wrap and detox foot baths, with bioimpedance, resting-lactate and urine diagnostics. A resort fee of €63 per person per night is charged on top, and accommodation is priced separately.
The 2026 Lans brochure says a stay can only be arranged with the Lanserhof fasting therapy, which the concept page calls the core of its method — though the German FAQ says fasting is not required and the guest Q&A calls it optional. The nutrition page says chewing training is taught at the start of a stay, with each bite chewed 30 to 40 times while fasting.
Is this your kind of stay?
Who it may suit, and when to consider another option
Use both columns as travel-planning guidance. Final medical suitability must be discussed with your own doctor and the qualified team at the property.
✓Consider this if
- Guests who want a diagnostic and therapy strategy agreed with a physician as the basis of a stay
- Stays of at least seven nights — the property recommends two weeks
✗Consider another option if
- Stays shorter than seven nights — the minimum for Lanserhof Classic; the property’s 4-day retreats are separate programmes
- Children — the German FAQ says a stay with children is not possible; the guest Q&A says under-16s are generally not accommodated
- Day-spa or outpatient visits — the German FAQ and Q&A say no; the Q&A says exceptions may be made for recent guests back for follow-up care
- Guests travelling with pets — the brochure says cats and dogs cannot be accommodated; the German FAQ says to ask about exceptions
Where you stay
Lanserhof Lans
The Lans page says the first Lanserhof opened here in 1984 and calls it "the origin of the Lanserhof Method". An interview on the group’s site says a hotel built in 1974 became a health hotel in 1984, starting with F.X. Mayr medicine.
Lanserhof’s method centres on its fasting therapy. The room and a binding EUR 63 fee per person a night, not refunded if unused, are extra. Outpatient stays are not offered, and the first days may bring headaches, dizziness or fatigue. Cancelling under four weeks out can cost 50% of the room rate.

Supervision, by qualification and number
Clinical and practitioner teams are described by role and qualification rather than by individual name, because staffing changes. The property will confirm the current team and explain how practitioners are assigned before or on arrival.
- Clinical supervision
- The programme page says guests develop a diagnostic and therapy strategy with their attending physician. The Classic page lists a 24-hour on-call physician; the 2026 Lans brochure lists an on-call doctor, duty and night service.
- The team around you
- Lanserhof’s German FAQ says its team of doctors looks after guests throughout the stay, working closely with therapists and with movement and nutrition experts.
- Consultations
- For 12–16 nights: a 50-minute initial examination, 6 examinations with abdominal treatment, a findings discussion and a final one.
