Somebody whose problem is digestive, metabolic or inflammatory, and who is prepared to be genuinely hungry for a fortnight in exchange for a properly medical answer. Modern Mayr medicine is a real diagnostic and dietary discipline and this is one of the houses that developed it.

What it is known for
Why this house has the reputation it has
- Opened in 1984 as the original Lanserhof, and the house from which the entire Modern Mayr Medicine category was exported.
- The smallest and most clinically intimate of the Lanserhof houses, which is exactly why regulars keep choosing it over the newer flagships.
- A genuine medical intake: physician examination, blood work, manual abdominal treatment and a graded diet, with diagnostics rather than a spa menu.
- At altitude above Innsbruck with graded walking prescribed as part of the cure rather than offered as an activity.
What we would tell you on the phone
The first seventy-two hours are genuinely miserable — headache, fatigue and hunger while caffeine and sugar come out — and the houses are candid about it. The evidence base is also thinner than the clinical presentation implies: supervised caloric restriction, chewing training and a strict eating rhythm plausibly explain most of the benefit, while the diagnostic claims made for abdominal palpation are not well supported.

Who is actually here
Physicians trained in Mayr medicine alongside internists, with diagnostics, laboratory work and manual abdominal treatment as standard. Every stay opens with a medical examination and the diet is prescribed from it — there is no menu to choose from.
We do not publish clinicians' names anywhere on this site. They move, which makes a named page quietly untrue, and naming one invites you to book a person no house can promise will be on shift — assignment is made on arrival, from your examination. What is worth knowing is how many there are and what they hold.
