Who this house is for
Retreat leaders are the clearest fit: the site has a page for them offering a Yogshala, outdoor decks and custom menus. Others should be ready for a drive of several hours beyond Rishikesh, treat the Panchakarma diagnostics as claims to check, and ask about step-free access, as the home page describes arrival as a 300-metre walk.

What it is known for
Why this house has the reputation it has
- The wellness PDF linked from the site itemises the Yogic Detox: four, six or eight yoga, fitness or meditation sessions over three, five or seven nights, plus one Ayurvedic treatment, a yoga consultation, nature walks and sattvic organic meals.
- The holistic-wellness page lists seven Panchakarma inclusions, among them diagnostics, Ayurveda and physiotherapy sessions and follow-up consultations, and a therapy list with durations, from 20-minute Nasya to 50–60-minute Shirodhara.
- The holistic-wellness page says the Yogshala has mats, blocks, bolsters, Iyengar chairs and blankets, with Tibetan bowls, tongue drums and tabla sets for sound healing. The retreat-hosting page adds outdoor yoga decks and custom menus for groups.
- The retreat-hosting page states 25+ retreats hosted, 500+ participants and a 4.9/5 average guest rating, with no source shown. A blog post on the property’s own site says it limits groups to 10–15 participants.
- The farm-to-table page says vegetables come from the retreat’s backyard garden and that vegan and gluten-free meals are available. The landing page says the kitchen is entirely vegetarian, and one blog post calls the retreat "entirely alcohol-free".
Worth knowing before you choose
It is not in Rishikesh. It is in Selur, Tehri Garhwal, two and a half to three and a half hours’ drive from Rishikesh. The Panchakarma includes pre-stay diagnostics and Ayurveda and physiotherapy sessions; ask us who leads them. Prices are given on request.

The accommodation page calls it a top-floor room with a balcony and valley view; the landing page calls it first-floor. The website gives a king-size bed for two, the booking engine a double bed.
- 03
Kaphal 124 SQM or about 150 sq ft
East-facing, with a shared deck. The accommodation page gives it as both lower level and top floor, so confirm it if access matters. The booking engine gives a queen bed and includes breakfast, dinner and yoga.

Wellness at The Rudraksh Retreat
Who is actually here
Family-owned. The about page credits two hosts and a "closely knit team", and the retreat says it employs villagers at fair wages. Longer detox packages include a Wellness Consultant, and the Panchakarma includes Ayurveda and physiotherapy sessions.
Team information is described by role and qualification rather than by individual name, because staffing changes. Ask us to confirm the current practitioner team and how guests are assigned before you book.
