At a glance
Who this house is for
The site presents it as an in-patient Ayurvedic facility, though its FAQ also pitches it for "a health vacation". The homepage lists ten treatment areas, from spine and joints to neurological rehabilitation and what it calls supportive cancer care. All eight programmes run seven days or more.
The signature
Shuddhi, the Panchakarma programme, published at 10 to 30 days. Its page says the choice of Panchakarma is determined by a thorough Dosha analysis.

What it is known for
Why this house has the reputation it has
- The Guest Journey page sets out the stay: an optional online pre-consultation, a plan from the resident Ayurveda doctor on arrival, then one to two therapy sessions a day. It says the Vaidyas are available for online consultations afterwards.
- Eight programmes, each with a published duration: de-stress, slimming, skin and hair, and post-natal care at 7 to 21 days; therapeutic, rejuvenation, pre-conception and Panchakarma at 10 to 30 days.
- The Ayurveda centre page says the property has the tools for complete Panchakarma — Vamana, Virechana, Vasti, Raktamoksha and Nasya — and the homepage says it prepares its own Ayurvedic medicines, oils and formulations.
- The team page lists three physicians, all BAMS, with qualifications for each, including a Resident Medical Officer. The founding physician offers an optional online pre-consultation.
- The experience page says milk comes from the property’s own goat and cow farm, fruit, vegetables and spices are homegrown, and no pre-packaged spices are used; spices are sun-dried and ground at community spice mills.
Worth knowing before you choose
Plans offered for September 2026 were non-refundable, so we confirm cancellation terms with you before you book. The Junior Suite and Executive Suite share the same features; ask us which is available.
Your accommodation
The rooms, and which one to ask for
- 01
Executive Suite
Described as independent cottages in the traditional architectural style, with a living area, bedroom, kitchenette and two private bathrooms, one open and one closed.
- 02
Junior Suite
A separate category with the same features as the Executive Suite.
- 03
Nalukettu Rooms
Ensuite rooms in the main building, named for the Kerala Nalukettu style, which the page describes as known for a central courtyard and sloping roofs.
Categories and names are as published by the property and are confirmed in writing at the quote. Where we would take a different room from the one the programme is quoted in, the note says so.
Wellness at Back to Roots Ayurveda
Who is actually here
The team page lists three Ayurvedic physicians, all BAMS, and a wellness manager. The founder, whose clinic group is in the UAE, also holds an MD in Shalyatantra.
Team information is described by role and qualification rather than by individual name, because staffing changes. Ask us to confirm the current practitioner team and how guests are assigned before you book.

At the table
Eating here
On a structured programme, meals may be part of the schedule rather than chosen from a full restaurant menu. We will clarify the dining format before you book.
- On-site restaurant
Unnamed, with no published menu, serving at fixed hours. The room pages list a vegetarian Ayurveda diet menu and the FAQ says diets are personalised; the experience page says milk comes from its own farm.
- Non-vegetarian dishes with physician approval
The FAQ says an easy-to-digest vegetarian diet is often recommended, but the physician may permit non-vegetarian dishes if treatment will not be hampered.
