At a glance
Who this house is for
Somebody who wants a small property — eleven suites, one room type, most treatments given in the suite — by a river, with walks to nearby temples. The FAQ says "a lot of single women" stay. Anyone who needs a documented registration or accreditation before a long or medically framed programme will not find it on this site.
The signature
Unlimited Ayurveda — which the brochure lists as three to four treatments a day, prescribed by the Ayurveda doctor after a consultation with pulse diagnosis.

What it is known for
Why this house has the reputation it has
- Eleven 600 sq ft suites, all one category, each with a private in-suite spa, a personal library and a balcony. The treatments-page FAQ says "Most treatments are done privately in your suite"; heavy-oil treatments use the rooftop spa.
- Rates are all-inclusive, per person a night by package and length of stay: for one guest from ₹13,542 (Yoga/Meditation) to ₹23,135 (Unlimited Ayurveda).
- The brochure sets out how much treatment each rate buys: one to two treatments a day for Classic Ayurveda and Panchakarma, three to four for Unlimited Ayurveda and Marma. One Panchakarma page, however, promises "Unlimited Ayurvedic treatments".
- It is set on a river. The accommodation page gives a 400 metre river frontage, a private jetty, a pool, an organic garden and a bamboo grove; the FAQ offers fishing, boating and birdwatching, and puts Varkala beach 20 minutes away.
- The house rules are published. The FAQ says "one would never find a buffet at Mekosha" and that meals are freshly prepared; the terms ban alcohol and outside food, and allow smoking only in a designated zone.
Worth knowing before you choose
It sells a Cancer Care programme, but it is a wellness retreat, not a cancer treatment centre — keep your own doctors involved. Panchakarma length and treatment numbers vary by programme, from one or two treatments a day to unlimited, and we confirm yours in writing.
Your accommodation
The rooms, and which one to ask for
- 01
Spasuite600 sq ft
The only room type, eleven in all. The accommodation page lists a king-sized bed, a private in-suite spa, a personal library and a balcony over the pool and river; the FAQ says an elevator connects all rooms.
Categories and names are as published by the property and are confirmed in writing at the quote. Where we would take a different room from the one the programme is quoted in, the note says so.
Wellness at Mekosha Ayurveda Spasuites Retreat
Who is actually here
The team page heads its doctors "Chief & Consulting Physicians" and says one or two of them look after the retreat at a time. The homepage profiles two doctors and says the panel includes Ayurvedic and allopathy doctors.
Team information is described by role and qualification rather than by individual name, because staffing changes. Ask us to confirm the current practitioner team and how guests are assigned before you book.

At the table
Eating here
On a structured programme, meals may be part of the schedule rather than chosen from a full restaurant menu. We will clarify the dining format before you book.
- Chef’s menu
The brochure describes a set Chef’s Menu of "Tridoshic Sattvic Meals", with specific dietary needs met with the doctor’s consent and advance notice to the chef. The FAQ says every meal is freshly prepared.
- Communal table
The communal table page places it at Aamala restaurant, with "vast wooden tables" and "a chance to meet people from all over the world"; the 2026–27 brochure gives it its own page.
- Non-vegetarian and à la carte
The FAQ says non-vegetarian food is available à la carte with the doctor’s permission, though the treatments-page FAQ says meals are sattvic and vegetarian. Meals can be served in-suite or at the riverside dining area.
