Cycles & hormones
A women-only cohort with women physicians, and a therapy schedule that moves around your cycle rather than the diary.
Per person. Sole occupancy is not half a double, and we would rather you saw both now.
15 concerns, each answered with what helps, what a fortnight can and cannot do, and where the evidence stops.
All concerns →Every destination, the season each one is genuinely best in, and the months we would talk you out of.
Open the atlas →The properties the world has actually heard of — and which of them we can book for you.
See them all →Going together
A solvable problem, and the wrong solution ruins the fortnight for both of you.
What is going on
The mismatch is extremely common and the houses vary enormously in how well they handle it. At the strictest — no alcohol, no meat, no menu, nothing to do after dark — a companion who is not in treatment will be climbing the walls by day three, and their boredom will become your problem.
The right answer is a house with two kitchens and something outside: one restaurant cooking to prescription and another cooking à la carte, a beach or a town within reach, and a treatment block that does not require both of you to be in it. Three properties in this atlas are built exactly this way and we will steer you to them.
The other right answer is TripClub’s: put the leisure either side rather than during. Four days of the country before the programme starts, with both of you, and then a fortnight where one of you is working and the other has a plan. It works far better than trying to interleave the two.
What actually helps
The coastal houses with a separate à la carte kitchen alongside the Ayurvedic one — real treatment for one of you without imposing it on the other.
Where both of you want something, a yoga week with an optional timetable suits two people at different levels better than any medical programme will.
The larger naturopathic houses have enough going on — classes, a beach, a town — that a companion has a genuine week rather than a wait.
Expectations
The commonest complaint after a wellness stay is not that it failed — it is that it was not what the guest pictured. This block is here to remove that.
Curated by hand

A consultation, then an assigned programme in steep jungle above the Ayung — the model that made Bali serious.

Hatha and Vedanta on the estate above Rishikesh, without the ashram’s five-thirty start.

Where this is done well
Mararikulam, Marari beach · India
A large beachfront Ayurvedic resort on the Alappuzha coast, recognised as much for its environmental design as for its treatment.
Begawan, Payangan, above the Ayung river · Indonesia
The property that made Bali a serious wellness destination rather than a yoga town — a residential health retreat in jungle above the Ayung.
Playa Guiones, Nosara · Costa Rica
The anchor of Nosara’s twenty-year yoga community, and the most established base on the Blue Zone coast.
Lichtentaler Allee, the Kurviertel · Germany
The archetypal European grand spa hotel — Edward VII, Bismarck, Henry Ford — with a genuine medical house, Villa Stéphanie, built alongside it.
